Awhile ago, Papa gifted Landon a real set of ACUs for Christmas. Landon rediscovered them today.
He also discovered his father's binoculars.
He immediately marched downstairs and announced that he needed to go outside to look for birds.
Best. Landon. Pictures. Ever.
Be still my heart.

So our "other house" is finished apparently...
So you might recall we briefly "owned" a home to build up in Frisco a few months ago before BK decided to take a job down here instead?
Well, looks like they just finished it a couple of weeks ago. I happened to google the address, and found a few pictures. It's sort of weird to look at a house that I know that I picked out all the colors and cabinets for... (except they apparently added the fireplace that I argued with the saleslady about not wanting. Glad she finally got her way... hahaha)
Of course, someone in Frisco is now making a fortune renting it out for more than we're paying total for our monthly payment down here. Good for them.
I think my house here is cuter.
And just for the record--you were right, BK. That backyard wouldn't have been big enough for our boys. ;)

Wrassle
At least seven times a day, Spencer instigates a wrestling match with Landon. This is sort of ambitious for him, as Landon is approximately three times Spencer's size.
For the first 15 seconds they have fun. But then Spencer gets hurt (inevitably). And so then I have to break it up.
Post-wrestling:
Landon generally goes unharmed in these spats. Surprise, surprise.
Sidenote: BK wants me to cut Spencer's hair. I refuse. So his next strategy is to start giving Spencer horrible nicknames like: Curly Sue and Poodle. But even then, I will not cut it. HE IS STILL A BABY.
Gotta go, they're back to wrestling. Again.

Evenings
Evening around here have been running a lot more smoothly. BK's amazing job won't let him stay much past 5:30--so we all get to have dinner together. Then BK takes the boys outside to play soccer.
But then it gets hot so they sit down in the grass.
By the time they come inside, they usually smell like a litter of dirty puppies.
But it's a happy smell, really.

Let it be known
1. Right now both of my sons are sleeping. This hardly EVER happens. Landon's sort of trying to phase out naps these days, and honestly, I'm not really fighting it anymore. Since Spence still takes a morning and afternoon nap, if Landon slept in between, we would NEVER go anywhere! But today, I'm okay with it.
2. But Landon is lacking in the sleep department because my mom and I took him to see Cars 2 last night. Out of his three experiences at the theater, this was definitely his best. He sat and ate (my mom's) popcorn the whole time. The first time he went to the theater was about a year ago. My mom took him to see Toy Story 3. He almost got lost in the mall. He spilled his Sprite on her. And he ended up piddling on her lap. But she still loves him, and continues to attend movies with him. If that's not unconditional love, folks, I don't know what is.
3. I still love my house. I don't even mind cleaning it. Because I love it. So far my children haven't destroyed anything in the house, and so I still love them, too. <---conditional love...oops. So far BK hasn't complained about mowing the yard, but I think that's mainly to prove a point. But we're just going to go with it. I mowed the yard for him a few weeks ago when he was out of town taking his Board exam. Although it was like 500 degrees outside, and I felt like mowing the yard naked, I didn't. You're welcome, neighbors.

Let's catch-up, shall we?
Last Friday, my parents were generous enough to watch my children overnight while BK and I fled down to New Braunfels to frolic at Schlitterbahn (a water-park, for all you non-Texans) to celebrate him passing his Board Exam and my birthday. Good times were had. Some important observations about humanity that I discovered there:
- 99% of the women wearing string bikinis most DEFINITELY should not have been. I also completely don't understand the 15 year olds that are comfortable wearing that sort of thing when hanging out with their parents, namely their FATHERS, at Schlitterbahn. Most teenager girls looked completely uncomfortable wearing so little anyway--it's a shame they think they have to.
- That being said, I'm definitely in better shape than I thought. I would say that I looked better in a swimsuit post-two-babies than the average girl at Schlitterbahn.
- Also, who KNEW that so many people have tattoos! I guess we just don't normally notice since people usually wear clothes, but seriously, most people there had some sort of tattoo, and I would say 80% were completely trashy looking.
- There are a lot of fathers who apparently can't handle a family get together without a Bud Light. Sad, humanity. Sad.
- Most adults act like complete children (my husband and I included) when being tossed around a ride on an innertube.
Moving on...
Sunday we got together at my parents' for a dinner, cake, and birthday tribute... to ME. Of course. I'm 27 now. Wow, that sounds a lot older than 26. But as my sister Sara said, at least we're not all as old as BK. THANK HEAVENS.
Monday we hung out with our friend Dan. Board games and BBQs--it was awesome.
Tuesday was my actual birthday. I don't think I've ever heard from so many people on my birthday in my entire life! It was amazing!! It seriously made my birthday. I think, between facebook, texting, and phonecalls, I heard from over 50 people! And every single person in my family (including my in-law family) remembered my birthday as well. Great job, humanity. GREAT JOB.
Today Spence finally had his 1 year check-up (oops) and he is for sure a small little thing. Or maybe it's just that Landon has always been big. Or both. But 10 month old Landon weighed more than Spencer does now. Poor little Spence. Good thing he has such a fighting little spirit in him.
Yesterday at the library I checked out A Tree Grows in Brooklyn--which is my favorite book of ALL TIME. I've read it many, many times, but it's been a few years, and I'm excited to read it again.
And now, my friends, I believe we are all caught-up.
Phew.
I'm exhausted now.
